EXTENSION

Agent skills and MCP: the intelligence extends itself.

Agent skills and MCP are how the scope stays open: a skill saves a proven way of doing a job, and an MCP connection opens a new system to work with. Zeus AGI keeps both readable and permissioned, so the next domain is learned and connected rather than waiting for a new product release to exist.

SKILLS

Agent skills and MCP: what they are

A skill is a saved way of doing a job. It holds the procedure, the checks, the preferences and the lessons that made a previous run work: the order of the steps, the settings that mattered, the place where a fault usually hides, the format the output must take. A skill is not a prompt pasted into a conversation. It is a reusable method the agent can load, follow and improve.

Skills are how a one-off becomes a routine. The first brand audit teaches the agent how this brand is written and what a good page looks like in it. The second audit loads that skill and starts from experience. The third is faster again, and the quality is more consistent because the method no longer depends on the agent rediscovering it each time.

Equally important, skills are readable. You can inspect one, understand what it does and change it. A method that cannot be read is a superstition; a method you can review is a process. Where a skill encodes a house rule, a naming convention or a house preference, that knowledge stays visible and editable instead of disappearing into an opaque model.

The same system stores the general and the specific. There are skills for technical work, such as verifying a CMS deployment or auditing a server. There are skills for house style, such as how a particular company writes a report or names a file. The general skills travel between jobs; the specific ones make the agent behave like a colleague who has read the manual.

There is a governance benefit to writing methods down. When a skill is visible, so is the assumption inside it. You can see whether the method matches the current process, whether it encodes an old exception and whether it should be replaced. A library of reviewed skills is an operating manual the agent and the team can both read, which is a healthier arrangement than knowledge that exists only inside a model.

MCP

MCP: reach beyond the local machine

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open way Zeus AGI connects to systems and data sources outside the machine. An MCP server exposes a capability: a project tracker, a document store, a database, a hosting panel, a specialist service, a research source. The agent can then work with that system through a defined interface instead of through a custom integration for every product.

The practical effect is reach without a new application. Before MCP, a new domain often meant a new tool to learn and a new place for the work to live. With MCP, a new system is a connection: the agent discovers what it offers, uses the operations that are permitted and keeps the evidence of what it did. The intelligence stays the same; its access grows.

Connections are treated as permissions, not as conveniences. An MCP server is only as trustworthy as the system behind it and the person who authorised it. The agent starts with a read test, keeps credentials where they belong and records what was accessed. A connection that cannot be reviewed should not be connected.

Skills and MCP work together. A skill describes how to do a job; an MCP connection supplies the system the job needs. Together they answer the question this whole site returns to: when a new kind of work appears, the agent does not need a new product. It needs a way to learn the method and a way to reach the system.

HOW IT WORKS

Learn, connect, apply and review

01

Learn the method

The agent works the job, records the method that made it succeed and saves the useful part as a skill. A method is only saved after it has worked, so the library grows with evidence rather than with confidence.

02

Connect the system

If the job needs a system beyond the machine, an MCP connection is configured with the access the task requires. A read test confirms what the connection can do before it is used for a real change.

03

Apply and adapt

The skill is loaded, the connection is used and the job is carried out. Where the situation differs from the last run, the method adapts and the difference is noted, so the next version of the skill is better than this one.

04

Review and keep

You can read the skill, inspect the connection and see the evidence. A skill that no longer fits is edited or retired. A connection that is no longer needed is closed. The library stays a curated asset, not an accumulating pile.

IN PRACTICE

What a new capability looks like

A new domain skill

A brief arrives in a field the agent has not worked before. The method is researched, tested on a small job and saved as a skill that can be used again. The saved method is the asset, not the single result.

A house style

The way your organisation writes, names files and structures reports is captured as a skill, so every future output starts inside your conventions rather than being corrected into them.

A project tracker link

An MCP connection to your project system lets the agent read the work, update the record and report the change without a manual export.

A document store link

A connection to the repository where your files live lets the agent retrieve the source, produce the output and file it in the right place.

A hosting connection

Access to a hosting platform through a defined interface lets the agent check a site, apply a configuration change and verify the result.

A data source link

A connection to a database or reporting system gives the agent the facts it needs for a report, under read permissions and with the query recorded.

THE DIFFERENCE

A fixed integration list versus an extensible intelligence

Every product has an integration list. The important question is what happens when your system is not on it, or when next year’s system does not exist yet.

HONEST LIMITS

Permissions, review and the honest limits

An extension is also an attack surface. A skill can encode a bad habit, and an MCP server can expose more than it should. That is why both are treated as reviewable objects: the method is written down, the connection is scoped and the evidence is recorded. A skill that has not been reviewed is a draft, and a connection that has not been tested is a risk.

The agent does not acquire a new domain by magic. It researches the method, tests it on a real job and keeps it only if it works. Some domains will need an expert to validate the method before it is trusted, and some systems will not expose a usable interface. Those cases are reported rather than disguised as capability.

Credentials stay with you. Connections are made with the access you choose, and you can remove it. The agent works within the permissions it is given and cannot grant itself more. That is the difference between an intelligence that extends itself and one that escapes its remit.

The claim is ambitious but precise. The scope is open because skills and MCP are open. It is not unlimited in practice: it is limited by what can be learned, connected, verified and trusted. Those four limits are what make the open scope credible, and they are stated here rather than discovered later.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Short, direct answers. If yours is missing, the full FAQ page has more.

Agent skills and MCP are two halves of the same extension system. Agent skills are saved, reusable methods: the procedure, checks and preferences that made a job work, kept so the next similar job starts from experience. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is how the agent connects to external systems and data sources through a defined interface. Skills teach the method and MCP opens the reach. Together they let the scope grow without a new product release. The library is reviewed, not accumulated.

It works a real job, records the method that succeeded and saves the useful part as a skill. A method is kept only after it has worked on a real task, because saving an untested approach spreads a mistake. You can read the skill, correct it or retire it. The library therefore grows from evidence rather than from a claim about capability. The method is the thing that carries.

An MCP server is a service that exposes a system or a data source through the Model Context Protocol, so the agent can use it without a custom integration. It might front a project tracker, a document store, a database, a hosting panel or a specialist service. The connection is configured with scoped permissions, tested with a read first and reviewed before it is used for changes. A read test is the first connection.

Yes. Access is yours to grant, and it is scoped to what the job needs. The agent does not add a connection for itself. Your credentials stay under your control and can be withdrawn. A connection that has not been tested is not used for real work, and the evidence log records what was accessed and what was changed through it. Your access, your decision.

Yes. Skills are written down and readable, so you can see the method, the checks and the preferences it encodes. You can correct it when the process changes or retire it when it no longer fits. That transparency is deliberate: a method you cannot read is a superstition, and one you can review is a process you own. Readability is what makes a skill ownable.

Safe enough when it is treated as a permission. Start with a read-only test, check what the server exposes, limit the scope and review the actions it enables. An MCP server is only as trustworthy as the system behind it and the person who authorised it. The agent keeps credentials where they belong and records what it did, so a connection can be audited after the fact. A connection is a permission first.

It means the scope can grow, with limits that are stated: what can be learned, connected, verified and trusted. Some systems will not expose an interface, some domains will need an expert to validate the method and some work belongs entirely to a person. The honest position is an open scope with honest edges, and the limits page sets those edges out. The open scope is precise about its edges. The edges are published, not discovered.

BEYOND THIS

This is one example. The next domain is a request away.

Zeus AGI acquires the skills it needs and connects MCP servers, so the scope is not a fixed feature list. If the work is digital or device based, it is in scope.

Open the next domain.

Describe the work that has no page on this site. Zeus AGI will work out what the job needs, learn the method, connect the system under your permissions and prove the result. Skills and MCP are how the list stays open.
